Scenic Hudson's Trailmasters program involves students in a two-part program that includes an in-class presentation and a field trip to one of Scenic Hudson's Parks & Preserves.
Students learn lessons of land stewardship, history and ecology and participate in a team-based volunteer trail project that develops a sense of place, conservation awareness and group decision-making skills. Age appropriate projects may include trail construction and repair, landscaping and litter removal.
The program meets many school's character building requirements. To arrange a Trailmasters program for your school, call Joseph Kiernan at (845) 473-4440, ext. 265, or e-mail jkiernan@scenichudson.org.
In addition, for ninth to 12th grade students, special programs tailored to your high school class may be available by special arrangement and through our Speakers Bureau. For more information, call Andy Bicking at (845) 473-4440, ext. 232, or e-mail abicking@scenichudson.org. |
